The scholarships listed below are planned to be available to students graduating from Traverse City High School. Applications are typically accepted during the Spring of the student's graduating year.
Susan Ruth Pavelka Memorial
The purpose of the Susan R. Pavelka Scholarship Fund is to award a scholarship primarily to students of Traverse City High School who will be attending an accredited post secondary educational institution and have demonstrated financial need.
Earl Chambers Memorial
This scholarship is available to graduating seniors from Traverse City High School. Applicants must exhibit a high degree of humanitarian ideals, through behaviors, actions and ideals.
Transportation Association Scholarship
Scholarship to be awarded by the TCAPS Bus Drivers Association to a student who has improved his/her GPA during the school year to a 2.0 or better, has exhibited an improved social attitude, and improved attendance. The student should demonstrate financial need. This award may be used for college or a training school and be applied toward room and board, tuition, or books.
The Opportunity Fund Scholarship
The objective of this fund is to provide a $1000 scholarship to a graduating senior of Traverse City High School who has demonstrated the desire, will and ability to succeed in life. The scholarship is to be used by the recipient for further education and skill development in pursuit of the career of their choice. It is renewable annually for a maximum of 3 more years as the student demonstrates successful progress toward the attainment of their goal. This scholarship is given in loving memory, gratitude and admiration for the donor’s father. He was a tool-and-die maker who understood the value of post-secondary education as a foundation for building a successful career.
Pennie Egeler Memorial Scholarship
The Pennie Egeler Memorial Scholarship is in honor of Pennie Egeler who retired after 20 years as a Registered Nurse at Munson. The scholarship is available to students graduating from Traverse City High School. The selected recipient will have an interest in working in the medical field (including nursing, dental assistant, x-ray technician, etc.). Preference will be given to student parents, though all graduating seniors are encouraged to apply.
