Scholarship Barney and Renie Barber Trade

This fund was established in memory of Barney and Renie Barber, who were long time residents of Rapid City. The Barbers co-founded Do-All Construction Company and served as role models for success through hard work and perseverance to the many young people they helped throughout their lives.

Their construction company offered many young men and their families an opportunity to earn an income in northern Michigan in the building trades. They valued education and a strong work ethic and worked diligently to help young people make their own way in life. They lived and worked in Kalkaska County and supported their community through various civic and educational activities.

Scholarship Requirements:

  • Applicant is a graduating senior from Kalkaska, Mancelona or Forest Area high school.
  • Applicant demonstrates a commitment to community involvement
  • Applicant plans on pursuing a post-secondary or vocational program related to the building trades such as engineering, architecture, masonry, plumbing, etc.
