Roy and Ellen Brigman founded Camp Roy-El in 1952. Over 40 years they welcomed 795 campers with physical disabilities.
After the camp closed, the passion of the Brigmans and Camp-Roy El continued through the Camp Roy-El Scholarship Endowment, created in 1992.
Looking back 25 years, 100 scholarships have been awarded to college students dedicated to helping those with disabilities. And, through the power of endowment, Roy and Ellen Brigman, and all of those who loved and were impacted by Camp Roy-El, are giving it forward, forever.

The Community Foundation has several scholarship opportunities for seniors graduating from Traverse City High School in 2018.
To apply, read this page completely and then complete an online application (link below). The deadline to apply is Tuesday, May 15, 2018. No late applications will be accepted.
By completing this online application, you will be considered for a variety of scholarships. Availability and dollar amounts of scholarships may vary each year. A committee of TC High counselors, teachers, and administrators review the student applications, according to the criteria for each scholarship award. Application information is made available only to the scholarship committee members. The decisions of the scholarship committee are approved by the Community Foundation Board and are final.
