Biography

Born and raised in Saginaw, Michigan and having spent childhood summers living and working in small businesses in the Grand Traverse region, Libby has always had an affinity for Northern Michigan. With a Bachelor of Science in Community and Environmental Sociology and a minor in Food Systems from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, she started her career with a specific interest in local food systems working at food access non-profits, organic farms, restaurants, and food co-ops.

Prior to joining the Community Foundation in 2026, Libby owned a small marketing company serving mission-driven businesses and nonprofits in Northern Michigan including Green Door Folk School, Grocer's Daughter Chocolate, and the North American Vasa. She lives in Traverse City with her partner, Dana, and their dog, Banjo. Outside of work you can find Libby outside, regardless of the weather--hiking or cross-country skiing with her dog, spending time at the beach, or going for walks around the Boardman neighborhood.
