Biography
Originally from Kansas, Torey earned her Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Stewardship from McPherson College. She moved to Traverse City in 2013 to follow her love of outdoor education and quickly discovered how special the community is. After spending a few years in the Lansing area working with a nature conservancy, she returned to Traverse City to be closer to family and the place that always felt like home.
Torey continues to contribute her time and expertise to local parks and natural spaces as an environmental education volunteer at the Grand Traverse Conservation District and as secretary of the Peninsula Township Parks Committee. In her free time, you can find Torey baking, exploring the area's natural beauty, and sailing Lake Michigan with her husband, 3 children, and dog, Sadie
