Our Youth Endowment was one of the first in our history, and is part of the story of the beginning of the Community Foundation.

It was established through a matching grant opportunity from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. For every $2 that was raised for other endowments, $1 was matched for the Youth Endowment. Donors came together, contributing $4 million to the brand new Community Foundation, allowing for the creation of a $2 million Youth Endowment.

High school students from across the region participate in our Youth Advisory Council program, learning about philanthropy and recommending grants from our Youth Endowment. Grant awards support programs and services benefiting youth.
