The Grand Traverse Regional Community Foundation’s Anchor and Heart Endowment recently awarded a $99,684 grant to Munson Healthcare Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital, supporting updates to long-term care, cardiac rehabilitation, and outpatient therapy equipment.
“Hospital staff identified several needs that the Anchor and Heart Endowment grant would help support, including the purchase of a new bariatric bed, long-term care beds, a therapy bike, and therapy tables,” said Steve Wade, Vice President of Community Impact at the Community Foundation. “Each of these items will support Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital in meeting the healthcare needs of Benzie County residents.”
For the last 16 years, the Community Foundation’s Anchor and Heart Endowment has awarded more than $1.2 million in grants to Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital. Grant decisions are made by the endowment’s fund advisory committee, which is currently made up of Courtney Morris, William Parris, Roger Perry, and Suzy Voltz. The late Phil Meek also served on the fund advisory committee, starting when the fund was established at the Community Foundation in 2007.
“With nearly $2.4 million in assets, the Anchor and Heart Endowment is a valuable funding resource for Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital that will be here now and forever,” said Roger Perry, member of the Anchor and Heart Endowment fund advisory committee. “The hospital is an asset to our community, and the endowment has been an important contributor to the health and well-being of our local residents.”
