Healthy, resilient, and thriving communities depend on working together

Recent events in our community, state, and across the country, in response to the deaths of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and the many before them, have been a vivid reminder of the continuing pain and suffering that racism causes, and has caused, for too many people, for too long. As your Community Foundation, we envision our region as one where all communities and all people are healthy, resilient, and thriving. This can only be possible if we work together to remove barriers that prevent all of our neighbors — and particularly people and families of color — from having equitable opportunities to achieve a thriving life. You can engage in efforts to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in our region by learning from and supporting organizations such as Title Track, We the People, the Native Justice Coalition, and the Justice and Peace Advocacy Center.
