The Kalkaska Community Awards are coming up soon on Thursday, June 9 from 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm at the Railroad Square Pavilion in downtown Kalkaska. The event, now in its 51st year, will celebrate the 2022 Kalkaska Citizen of the Year, Debbie Ball-Odeh and the 2022 Kalkaska Business of the Year, BC Pizza Kalkaska, owned by the Kati and Niki Hammontree.
Hosted by the Grand Traverse Regional Community Foundation and sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, the Kalkaska Community Awards will also feature a special guest speaker, Daniel Leonard, EDFP, Senior Community Development CAT/RST Team Specialist with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. Leonard works with communities to improve their existing physical asset inventory and social presence within downtowns throughout northern-lower Michigan.
Tickets for Kalkaska Community Awards are $20 per person and event registration remains open through the Community Foundation at www.gtrcf.org/kalkaska. Tickets can also be purchased at the event. The full cost of event registrations will be donated to the Foundation’s Endowment for Kalkaska Area, a permanent fund dedicated to supporting the Kalkaska community.
