Nominations Sought for 2021 Kalkaska Citizen and Business of the Year
Nominations are now open for the Kalkaska Business and Citizen of the Year Awards, a 50-year tradition in the community to honor a local business and resident for their civic involvement.
The Grand Traverse Regional Community Foundation is accepting award nominations from Kalkaska residents through May 16. Nominations can be submitted via this online form: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2021KalkaskaNominations.
Due to the resurgence in COVID-19 case numbers in the region, the Foundation will not hold the 2021 Kalkaska Annual Luncheon this month, as traditionally scheduled. A community event is tentatively planned for July at Railroad Square that would include a celebration of the award recipients.
“We are disappointed that we will be unable to gather together safely to celebrate Kalkaska’s Citizen and Business of the Year this spring, but we remain committed to our support of Kalkaska County by moving ahead with the award process and look forward to recognizing the winners later this year,” said Pam Amundsen, Donor Services Manager at the Community Foundation.
