Record Eagle Forum: A legacy of impact in the GT region

For more than 25 years, your Community Foundation has been working in our region to provide dynamic and excellent services for donors, meaningful grants to support local nonprofits and collaborative leadership around community initiatives. We have the responsibility and privilege of partnering with donors and nonprofits in our region to enrich our communities then, now and forever.
Community foundations are unique in a number of ways. They are grantmaking public charities dedicated to improving the lives of people in a defined geographic area. They are structured to bring together the financial resources of individuals, families and businesses to support effective nonprofits in their communities. Simply put, we are stewards of community gifts and assets so that the people of our region benefit from vital project and program funding— both now and for many years into the future.
The grants we award from our endowments benefit every corner of our community: arts and culture, the environment, youth, education and health and human services. In total, we expect to award more than $2 million in grants in 2018.
Already this year, we’ve awarded $384,000 from our designated endowments to nonprofits throughout the region. For these nonprofits, this type of grant award helps create consistent annual funding that they can rely to support their mission and programs and help them achieve their own goals. And, in the coming weeks we will wrap up our 2018 scholarship season and anticipate awarding close to $300,000 to support college students on their educational journey.
Over the past 26 years, we have awarded more than $52.5 million in grants and now manage $58 million in permanent endowment assets. These assets, and the impact we have been part of supporting, is possible because of the thoughtful planning and generosity of donors today and over the last three decades.
We know that each individual, family, and organization we work with has unique charitable interests and financial circumstances. Our role is to help our donors achieve the greatest benefit from their community investment and ensure that their passion is matched with purpose, forever.
