Kathy Larkin Alba Scholarship
Kathy Larkin has been a dedicated and selfless member of the Alba Public School community for more than 25 years. As a teacher and administrator, she worked tirelessly to prepare her students for the challenges of a changing world, demonstrated by example the value of public service, and advocated passionately for the school and its role as an anchor for the families who rely on it. Her generations of students have gone on to success in college, business and the military, and she’s been recognized four times for teaching excellence by the Michigan Education Association.
The Kathy Larkin Alba Scholarship is an annual award anticipated to be $1,000 given in her honor to a graduating senior at Alba Public School who has demonstrated academic excellence and has expressed interest in entering a public service field (including but not limited to teaching, social work, firefighting, law enforcement, or the military). These funds will support a student pursuing post-secondary education at a trade school, college, or university.
